We can supply you with a replacement tempered fireplace door glass to replace and repair a broken piece. It is common to break a section of your fireplace doors caused from overheating.
This type of Glass is not to be used in Wood Stoves, Wood Inserts, or Airtight fireplace appliances.
The most common glass used in firplace doors is tempered glass, due to it's high mechanical strength. Tempered glass is 4 to 7 times stronger than regular glass. It's 400 degree F thermal shock rating is high enough for use in glass fireplace screens and doors. Not all tempered glass formulas should be used for fireplace applications. Our supplier strictly manufacturs for the high temp industry, and hearth industry. We recommend a clearance of at least 4 to 6 inches between glass surface and fireplace grate. It is also suitable for any other application that calls for the added safety and strength of tempered glass. Tempered glass should not be used in Wood, Coal, or Pellet burning stoves.
